As a paramedic with a history in cabinet making, Adrian made the decision to leave his profession and set up his own business after the birth of his son. Based in the sea-side town of Littlehampton (UK), his business is situated right on the marina where he creates handmade furniture, kitchens and storage.
Adrian uses SmartBench to produce “literally everything” that leaves his workshop. Using 3D design software Sketchup, he designs bespoke furniture and adds in all the fixings using the plugin, Cabinet Sense. SmartBench has enabled Adrian to “eliminate waste” and “optimise his manufacturing process” – streamlining his production and workflow. It has helped him to reduce double handling (or sometimes, triple handling), as cut components are taken straight off the machine, put through an edgebander and then straight onto a trolley for assembly.
When asked to describe SmartBench in just three words, Adrian said “Simple, effective and accurate.” He went on to tell us “The selling point for me was definitely the accuracy. I also like the smart transfer app, it’s super simple and the touch screen is so easy. Maintenance is always taken care of, as SmartBench reminds me when it needs to be carried out. Very simply, if I can learn to use it in my mid 40’s – anyone can. Lastly, I have found customer service to be great.”
