Based in British Columbia, Canada, Loft and Bunk have been creating custom beds and furniture since 2008. Loft and Bunk is run by Gina and Alex who both have ample amount of past experience. Gina studied Art and Design for 4 years in England before working in London, eventually moving to Germany where her and Alex met. Alex studied structural safety, stage building, and safety regulations and was working as a set carpenter in the film industry. This family run business expanded further when their daughter, Amy, joined the team after graduating University in April this year! Amy’s main role is to work almost exclusively with SmartBench.
“We use SmartBench to make pieces for our custom furniture and signs. It has allowed us to expand our creativity by trying things we had not tried before. Through SmartBench we are also able to produce the pieces faster.”
“We have also used the SmartBench with the stylus, Amy was the winner of the 1000 member giveaway. We’ve had a lot of fun with it, making giant colouring sheets and custom wrapping paper.”
“Our SmartBench’s name is Yeti, and it’s a great introduction to CNC. The things that appeal to us is that it doesn’t use a lot of power, it is only 110 Volts. It can hold full size sheets of 4ft x 8ft, and it has a small footprint. This is very important to us as we have a small workshop so being able to easily take it apart and set up again is a really great feature. We also really enjoy the SmartTransfer app, this makes it so easy to send files.”
