Cold Spray is a cold material deposition technology that uses metal particles sprayed at high speed to create solid layers without the need for melting. Unlike traditional additive manufacturing methods that involve melting and solidification, Cold Spray produces dense, adherent metal deposits using only the force of impact.
The process begins with the selection of special metal powders tailored to your application. These powders are then accelerated through a jet of high-pressure gas, such as helium or nitrogen. When the particles reach the substrate, their high kinetic energy causes plastic deformation, binding them firmly to each other and to the substrate, forming a dense, adherent deposit.
